We are so excited to have our first guest on the podcast, Theresa’s friend, Andrea! Andrea is a crafty friend

Pysanky Eggs

  • What is the art of Pysanka?
    • A series of wax resist (batik) and dye in repeated layers to create a beautiful design on a hollow (or un-hollowed) egg
    • Yes! I will share this backstory
    • (Andrea, can you cover? Don’t have to type out, you can just go with it in the moment – if you don’t know that’s fine we can cover it!)
  • Favorite Designs
    • Basic
      • Can do simple dots, dashes, or lines
      • Can also make swirls of different colors that look like galaxies!
    • More advanced/traditional looks
  • Tips and Tricks
    • Light pencil lines for design
    • Use rubberbands for straighter pencil lines
    • Plan out design in advance
    • Ensure inside of egg is fully dried out
    • Pop open the sealed hole before applying heat to remove wax
